Sverre Vormedal is our new Sales and Technical Manager

We are proud to announce the appointment of Sverre Vormedal as our sales and technical manager for our customers in Iceland and the Faroe Islands.

Sverre brings a wealth of experience from various roles in the aquaculture industry since 2011, encompassing both full-time and part-time positions during his studies. His diverse background includes work in service boats, fish farms, sales logistics, and quality management. Before joining Benchmark, he served as Biological Controller at Arnarlax, an Icelandic farming company. Vormedal has lived in Reykjavik, Iceland since May 2021 and will work out of Benchmark’s office in Hafnarfjördur.

Vormedal is highly qualified for his new role, holding an MSc in International Fisheries Management from the Arctic University of Tromsø (UiT) and a BSc in Economics from the University of Bergen. Additionally, he holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences and Western Norway University of Applied Sciences.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new position, Sverre stated, “I consider Benchmark to be a leading and innovative player in the aquaculture industry. I am particularly impressed with their achievements in genetics and fish health.”

He added, “I look forward to joining the commercial team at Benchmark, where I will be responsible for our genetics customers in Iceland and the Faroe Islands. My goal is to provide sales and technical support, strengthening our position in these regions. I am excited to work closely with our customers, helping them find solutions that boost productivity and sustainability in their operations.”

In his new role, Sverre Vormedal will report to Kate Furhovden Stenerud, Commercial Director Salmon at Benchmark. Stenerud expressed her satisfaction with the new hire, saying, “The team and I are excited to welcome Sverre on board. Iceland is a growing market for genetics, and we are confident that Sverre possesses the skills and experience necessary to effectively support our customers in this region, as well as in the Faroe Islands.”
