My decision to join Benchmark Genetics was driven by a desire to be part of a team at the forefront of not only genetic advancements but also their real-world applications. Benchmark leverages knowledge from our in-house selective breeding programs for salmon and shrimp, along with extensive R&D efforts, and applies these innovations globally across a diverse array of aquaculture species through the department I have the pleasure of working in: Genetic Services. It is exciting to be part of a team that works on various aquaculture species and programs, pushing the industry forward, making significant strides in genetic research and its practical applications, and enabling our clients to improve the sustainability and profitability of their operations.
What I like most about my job is the fact that there is continuously new tasks and challenges, making each day a bit different. I also enjoy being a part of a team of ambitious, generous, solution oriented and down-to-earth colleagues. What attracted me to join Benchmark is the company’s focus on sustainability as this is a read thread through everything we do. For instance, to create sustainable jobs, contribute to a sustainable aquaculture industry and ensuring that the company is operating in a sustainable way.
