The Benchmark Animal Welfare Committee

Benchmark is in particular committed to the UN sustainability goals 3 and 14

For animal testing, we limit tests to an absolute minimum. The three R’s (reduce, refine, replace) is included, evaluated and re-evaluated for each test. Within genetics, there is a need to test animals as the information they provide is for the greater good in terms of selection. How we test the animals is a challenge each year with a strong focus to reduce testing animals.

One part of this work is the establishment of the Benchmark Central Animal Welfare Committee. It consists of animal professionals from the different business areas of Benchmark Holdings.

The scope of the work of the committee is to ensure that animal welfare and ethics is living through the organisation, ensuring that all staff has high standards when it comes to the animals under our care in production and the animals used in animal testing.
