Benchmark at ISGA, world leading symposium on aquaculture genetics

Benchmark Genetics is confirming its leading position in aquaculture genetics, having been granted six speakers and two poster presentations at the XIV International Symposium on Genetics in Aquaculture (ISGA XIV) to be arranged in Puerto Varas, Chile end of November.

This event, taking place every third year, has the main objective to share the latest world-class research on genetics and genomics for increasing the efficiency and sustainability of aquaculture. The symposium is also aiming to discuss strategies and results for the integration of novel genomic tools in aquaculture breeding and production.

The invited speakers from Benchmark are presenting the latest research in the symposium sessions Quantitative Genetics and Breeding, Genetics of Diseases and Stress, and Industry Genetics applications.

These are the presentations and speakers from Benchmark:

Selection response for resistance to bacterial diseases in Nile tilapia

Presenter: Carlos Lozano

Identification of a new infectious pancreatic necrosis (IPNv) variant in Atlantic salmon

Presenter: Hooman Moghadam

Selection of growth, survival and disease resistance in Pacific white shrimp

Presenter: Marcela Salazar

A multitrait selection approach in Atlantic salmon to improve key production problems in the Chilean industry

Presenter: Jean Paul Lhorente
