Job changes in Benchmark Genetics Norway

On 01.08.21, two changes of roles were made in Benchmark Genetics Norway AS. Ingunn Thorland takes over as the lead coordinator of the SalmoBreed breeding programme, and Arpitha Aradhya becomes the company’s new Information Technologies Manager Norway.

Ingunn Thorland, Senior Scientific Advisor in Benchmark Genetics, is a highly experienced applied geneticist who has worked with Akvaforsk Genetics Center (AFGC), now a part of Benchmark Genetics Norway, since 2001. Besides being heavily involved with technical deliveries to the SalmoBreed program for many years, Ingunn has extensive experience from advanced selection programs for several other aquaculture species and relevant R&D activities. She will continue reporting to Morten Rye, Director of Genetics in Benchmark Genetics in the new role.

Arpitha Aradhya joined AFGC in 2016. She comes from the position of Assistant Manager IT & Projects, which she has held since 2019. In the newly created position as Information Technologies Manager Norway, Arpitha will be responsible for management and coordination of IT activities in Benchmark Genetics Norway and Benchmark Animal Health Norway, in line with the group’s IT strategy and guidelines. The position reports to Jan-Emil Johannessen who is Head of Benchmark Genetics. In addition, Arpitha will continue in a support function related to follow-up and reporting of R&D projects. In this role, she reports to Morten Rye.
